As fashion stock control specialists, with the UK’s leading fashion stock control software, we were intrigued to hear about Zara’s Store Mode tech.
What does Store Mode tech do? It allows someone to see the available inventory of clothes from their closest Zara store on their mobile. You can order an item on your phone and then collect the item instore within 30 minutes.
We’ve long understood the importance of efficient stock control within fashion, but this is perhaps one of the first instances where customers themselves can see stock levels. It’s ingenious, and after a successful London trial, it’s being rolled out nationwide.
For us at i.LEVEL it’s another confirmation of the value of accurate stock control built purely for the needs of fashion – SKU’s, colours and sizes.
The timing is great too, with Freedom Day and the sunshine bringing a fresh optimism to the High Street – it’s estimated that UK footfall will rise 20% in the coming days as COVID-19 restrictions such as face masks and social distancing are no longer mandatory in England.
Zara’s Store Mode tech also includes WayFinder technology that lets customers pinpoint products instore, to their exact location. Once the item has been found, Zara app users can then reserve fitting rooms and ‘fast track’ fitting room lines with a QR code. However you look at it, it’s a damn smart use of mobile app technology!
